convocation, interviews and offer

updates:

thursday 24th August
interview session with Time Engineering for the Young Executive Scheme (YES) programme. the session was good, with me able to interact and connect with the interviewer panels. by the end of the session, i was confident that i've nailed the interview session. hehe.

went back to UTP accompanied with azren and yuyu. azren taught me the possibility of paying deposits in installments. :)

friday 25th August
early in the morning was the full dress rehearsal for the upcoming Convocation Ceremony. while most of the male graduates were wearing formal attire together with blazers and everything, some of us, including me, just put on the ceremonial robe while wearing collared t-shirts and cargo pants. hehe. talk about being different from others.
later that evening, convofair committee was faced with the dreaded scenario. torrential heavy raining. the dry field turned into a big pool of water. a perfect place for kerbau untuk berkubang.
foreseeing the situation, instead of spending the night at the convosquare, i spent the night at ipoh and lumut. :)

saturday 26th August
paintball competition is the highlight of the day. woke up early to get the feel at tapak konvo. unfortunately, the gerai-gerai was not open yet, causing me to head straight to the paintball battlefield. spent the rest of the morning walking aimlessly around the tapak konvo, before went back to have a good afternoon nap. by the way, the nasi ayam golek padang tak sedap langsung. as if the nasi tak masak. ntah la. tapi mmg tak sedap.

after a good long nap, went back to tapak konvo. had good lunch with dearie at another ayam golek's gerai. later in the evening, met old friends, and berborak-borak till 7pm.

Majlis Makan Malam Konvokesyen. it was a good night. our table was filled with sengal and crazy bunch of people. plus, our table was situated directly next to the door where the waiter and waitress used to bring in and out the dishes to be served. we had good dinner (appetizer: asparagus + mushroom soup; main course: chicken rib served with some kind of sauce; dessert: chocolate moist cake + coffee), and we enjoyed the night. we sang along the with the song sang by the singer. hahaha. basically, we all cam selamba je nyanyi part chorus. hehe. we even danced to the music. hehe. by the end of the night, we took pictures. :)

sunday 27th August
Majlis Konvokesyen Kali Ke-Enam. to be honest, i was very nervous on that day. there is no particular reason, but i believed all of my comrades felt the same thing. i can't remember much what i said to Tun Dr M, but having the opportunity to meet face-to-face with him is enough to make me speechless.
i did not bring any camera with me..

that evening, i rushed back to Subang for a futsal session. had a good game. :)

monday 28th August
went for 2nd round of interview with United Overseas Bank. by lunch hour, managed to go for the final stage. from 21 applicants for the 2nd round, only 11 of us were selected. it was sad to know that not all succeed in the 2nd round. now i know how the Malaysian Idol or One in a Million contestants felt when the results were announced. nasib baik takde bagasi ke ape ke.

2nd round: consists of group assessment, an essay, and presentation.
3rd round: final interview.

i'm not being pompous or overconfident. but i really feel that i'm gonna make it. oh please...

tuesday 29th August
received a call from HR dept of Time Engineering. i was selected and offered a place in their YES programme. reporting for duty date: 11/9.
i have not confirm with them yet. will do by tomorrow.

YES -- a 1 year training program by UEM Group, in order to give experiences to fresh graduates. more like an internship programme. allowance is rm1,200 per month.

anyway, i really hope that UOB will give me good news. please, let me be selected.
