but who knows?

i tried my best to avoid reading newspaper, watching news or surfing online news website.
i tried to not to read the international section.
but somehow, i accidentally pressed number 9 followed by number 0 on the astro remote control, and i saw things that i hated so much.
the one-sided reporting of world's crisis, covered-up stories, lies constructed as if it is the reality, and more lies.

i came across one of viewers' comment on bbc news. it was very interesting. the viewer pointed out that it is indeed the civilians who would be the highest casualities. it happens in every war.
in modern war philosophy and strategy, it is a foolish act for the army and the general to conduct bloodshed in a gentlemen manner. two sides gathered at the end of the corner, then the generals would meet up at the centre of the battlefield, exchanging peace offers and threats, before initiating the bloody festival and gathering.
now? press buttons, launched rockets, and claimed it was all pre-emptive strikes.

in this latest aggression between israel and lebanon, the main players are the israeli army and hezbollah. uncle sam gave the zionist missiles as gifts to uphold the law and justice. its ok. no problem. but when there are rumours of iran supplying weapons to hezbollah, seems like the whole world condemning it.

what can both sides benefitted from this war?
israel -- the chance to show the arab world of what it is capable of doing so. they are unafraid to perform military strikes (airstrikes, missiles barrage, artillery barrage), they can mobilized their reserves in fast response time, their commandoes are well trained, and they have big-powers support for whatever they are doing. in conclusion, they can show the arabs, of who's the boss.

hezbollah -- in this critical time, they gave people hope. they gave ways for fellow arabs to vent the displeasure with israel. they gave reasons for why israel should be destroyed. they gave reasons of why hezbollah is the one to be followed. whatever the outcome of this war, one thing is assured. the hezbollah is already cemented its position in lebanon's people. they are the saviour. the people of lebanon will fight for their cause, whatever it is.

lebanon -- whatever the outcome of this war would be, the lebanon government is already an affirmative sore loser. too much pride, perhaps, that stopped the government from allying itself with hezbollah. what the president did? sent video message, cringing for help that will come too late. most of the citizens have lost their faith in the government.

maybe in the future, not too distance, when the war is over, and basically israel won it (by looking at current conditions), lebanon have to compensate by giving the land once occupied by israel. the excuse? well, the israel could say they want to control that land as if to eliminate all hezbollah threat. who knows?
and then, automatically, lebanon will fall under the great american influences, politically and socially. for they need lots of money to reconstruct back the nation.
and the arabs? well, they'll be holding special meeting, residing in OIC, even produce declaration from the Arab League promising they will help lebanon in the re-construction process.
but who knows?
