Mcm lama lagi je kat sabah ni
At 1st, i thought of having them to stay at Le Meridien. But Ummi is very excited to visit the fish market and buy fresh fishes, and to cook them.
Hence, decided to use my gadget fund, to buy a new set of queen size bed, and some room decoration.
Ai.. Bila dah shoping mcm ni, nampak gaya mmg lama lagi laa kat sabah ni. Not that I'm complaining :)

My stance
Read at ur own peril.
I was in Semenanjung for a good one week, fully utilising the time spent with the family, rebuilding bridges, meeting old friends and other things.
Was on the way to fetch my sister from UiTM when Ummi, Abuya and I started talking about the local politic scenarios.
As always, my pops and I, we always be on different side of the fence.
So we talked about how Malays in Malaysia are not at par with others, and why we need more attention/focus in ensuring what belongs to us won't change hands to other people.
And I told them, Malaysia is of 13 states. 11 states under the Semenanjung and 2 states at Borneo island. And being a non-semenanjung living in Sabah, I am ashamed with current politics happenings.
Malays talked about how their rights are protected in the Constitution blah blah blah. Have they forgotten the Bumiputera? Their rights are also protected.
a tweet reminded me of something.
Malaysia has Malay Prime Ministers since its independence. And yet we are still fighting for our rights?
I'm a Bumiputera.

Open letter to a friend
All I can conclude is, the thing got bigger due to mis-communication.
I have to concur with her words. This is like a test on our friendship.
It is her fault for easily terasa,
And it is our fault for not showing her how we care about her.
Oh, how I can easily relate to how she felt all this while.
And how I am thankful for the fact that I don't give a damn about it (albeit me telling other people that I was a little bit hurt for that)
For that my love, I'm sorry for what I have done, and for what I did not do all these while.

phone story
and being typical me, i am already planning to change my handphone.
however, i am a bit reluctant to let go of my BB due to:
- i am very much satisfied with my BB's performance (altho am tad disappointed upon knowing that Bold 9700 will not support OS6)
- most of my friends already using BBM as means of communication
- perfect QWERTY keyboard
- checking and responding to emails with a dedicated email client, something that my BB cant do. imagine archiving my work email to GMail, and to retrieve it via GMail IMAP at iMail client
- increase productivity, as i'll be able to view documents on the go and in class too. however, iPad is only for consumption, not creation. at this point of time, i'm more on creating than consuming the data
- eBook reading while travelling in plane, ERL, buses, etc. owh, i am soo gonna miss this.

A message from an Arab Catholic priest to Pastor Jones who wants to burn the Quran
Translated from Arabic.
http://www.thenewalphabet.com/details5692.html
A message from Father Elias Zahlawi (a Syrian Catholic priest) to Pastor Terry Jones (who is calling for the burning of the Quran).
- Respected Pastor Terry Jones,
I have read your worldwide call for the burning of the Quran on this coming 11th of September. Your message stated that you are a pastor of one of the churches in Florida in the United States of America .
As an Arab Catholic priest from Damascus ( Syria ), I wondered what would be your objective, as an American pastor, for such a call?
I wondered, and I ask you: What are your responsibilities as a pastor?
Are you really a Christian pastor serving God in a church in America ?
Or are you merely a layperson from America who is pretending to be in the service of Christ?
Did you give in to your nationalism (Americanism) rather than giving in to your Christianity?
What is your aim with that call?
(Do you wish) to further fuel hatred among people? Is that consistent with (the teachings of) Jesus, whom you represent in your eyes and the eyes of many others?
Tell me, is there in the character of Jesus, in his words or in his actions anything that would remotely justify even a hint of promoting disdain and hatred among people?
Have you forgotten that Jesus was completely for love, forgiveness and peace? Have you forgotten what he taught us when he told his disciples and the people after them to tell God the heavenly Father of all to "forgive us our sins as we forgive those who wrong us"? You overlooked or forgot that when Jesus was hanging on the cross and being subjected to insults and vile words, he raised his voice, saying, "O Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do."
Who, then, do you represent or who are you trying to guide with this call of yours?
Isn't it enough what has been happening since September 11, 2001: the killing, destruction, displacement and starvation of hundreds of millions of people throughout the world, from Palestine – the land of Jesus – by your leaders in particular, headed by George Bush, who was claiming direct communication with God?
Wouldn't you agree with me that with your call (to burn the Quran), you have demonstrated that you are really unfamiliar with Jesus and that you desperately need to re-discover him again to be a true Christian pastor who calls, like Jesus, for the comprehensive love and full respect for every human being and a commitment to the full and wonderful teachings that call upon all believers, without exception, to always stand beside the poor, the oppressed and the disadvantaged?
My brother Pastor Terry Jones. Can you tell me, honestly, if Jesus came today, whose side would he take?
Is it the side of the powerful and arrogant oppressors who dominate the world and endlessly plunder its resources, violate its laws and international treaties, and kill people in their countries and destroy houses on top of their owners and turn them into refugees across the earth? Or is it the side of those who are oppressed, the disadvantaged, hungry, and homeless?
Did you forget what Jesus himself would say on the Day of Judgment to each person in front of him: "All that you did to one of my brothers, you actually did to me"?
I wonder if you have overlooked or forgotten that Jesus did not point in that speech on the Day of Judgment to the religion of any of those mistreated persons. He only referred to everyone as belonging to the human race and to his standing with the deprived, the weak, and the oppressed in this world.
So how could you as an American Christian pastor stand with the oppressors from your country whose injustice has spread around the world?
Aren't you afraid of when you appear before Jesus on Judgment Day and you are burdened with a heavy conscience, like your leaders who are blinded by the gods of power, money, control and greed?
My brother Pastor Terry. Do you think I am being unfair if I conclude that your hatred toward Islam is what drove you to such a reprehensible call for the burning of Islam's holy book, the Quran?
But let me ask you, as a Syrian Roman Catholic priest: What do you know about Islam? It appears to me from your call to burn the Quran that you are ignorant of Christ and Christianity, and that makes me believe that you are also ignorant of Islam and Muslims.
Believe me, it is not my intention to indict you and it is not my intention to engage with you in a religious debate about Christianity or Islam. However, after I prayed for a long time, let me suggest for both of us to make a joint effort on this coming September 11.
You might ask me what effort can we do jointly when you are in Florida and I'm in Damascus ?
Here is my suggestion.
I invite you to visit Syria , where you will be my guest and the guest of many of my Muslim and Christian friends. Syria is a country populated mostly by Muslims and in which Christians are indigenous to the land and have lived side-by-side with Muslims for centuries and centuries.
Come and don't worry about anything.
Come and you will find out about Islam and Muslims what will comfort you, please you, surprise you, and even lead you, from where you are today in Florida, to invite all people to live in respect, love and cooperation among all people.
This is what people need rather than the un-Christian call to fuel the sentiment of hatred and division.
Come to Syria and you will be amazed by the good nature of people and their faith, their relations, friendly cooperation and openness toward all strangers.
Come to Damascus to witness and live an experience that is not in your mind nor the mind or expectation of all the churches of the West or their bishops, pastors, and clergymen.
Come to see and hear two choruses, Christian and Muslim, singing together during Christian and Islamic holidays to praise Allah, the One God, who created us all, and to whom we all return.
My brother Pastor Terry.
I call you my brother and I am serious about calling you brother and about my invitation to you. I await a word (of reply) from you. Trust me that you will find a brother in Damascus , actually many brothers.
Please contact me and don't delay. I am waiting for you in Damascus .
I ask God to make our anticipated meeting the beginning of a long and interesting path that we undertake together with other brothers in Damascus and around the world.
How desperate is the need of our world for bright roads.
Come, the road to Damascus is waiting for you.
Father Elias Zahlawi

IPO and iPad. And also Civ5
I may have to list down things I want to use it for.
Then only can justify the longing/purchase.
I am also thinking of investing on Company's soon to be offered IPO. Speculations are rife about price of rm5 per share.
I may need rm30k maximum, in order to participate. Question is: should I take up personal loan (again) and sell my soul to the bank(s) (again), or should I go for financing package either by CIMB or AmBank?
I need to discuss with my Ministers of Finance: the parents.
Also, Civilization V is now out.
Am going to buy one.

Happy Birthday Ummi and Abuya~
Happy Birthday!
rather than me calling them, they called me earlier this morning to say thanks for the gifts.
abuya, in light of his Omnia 1 keep on having problems, had iPhone 3GS for his birthday.
ummi, since she'll be busy reviewing documents and surfing the Net for recipes, is now a proud owner of iPad.
and yeah, looks like my sister will be having her wedding reception sometimes during Chinese New Year.

The Smartphone War
current generation is divided.
if the Baby Boomers were divided on should we stay under the British rule, or should we pursue the path of independence and self-govern; and the Gen-X-ers are divided on which political parties best served their interests be it for the people or personal interest; the Gen-Y-ers are divided too.
in the times of technological advancements, where people are easily connecting and communicating with each other; what could possibly create a division among the Gen-Y-ers?
the very thing that unites us, is dividing us. it's the technology.
already we see groupies of Windows users, the cool and hip Mac users, and the "tegar" tech-geek using multiple versions of Linux OS. now emerges, the difference of smartphones.
most of the smartphone users, who have been affected by the cool factor of Apple, are embracing the iPhone team. surprisingly, some of them are those fond of the meek Windows Mobile OS. most of iPhone users are attracted to iPhone due to several factors. some of them are:-
- uber coolness of being seen with one
- easy to use. as Apple engineers really produced the best GUI and Human Computer Interaction for the smartphone.
- not much hassle. you only choose how big the data storage you want, and maybe the colour. that's all.
- there are lots of apps that are easily to retrieve/purchase/download, and you dont need to be a tech geek to know how to install it.
- wonderful screen display and icon. yeah, it's a repetition of point 2.
- not much button on it. simple.
surprisingly, there is this movement in town, currently gaining rapid support from the Gen-Y-ers. for the uninitiated, this movement have been in the field for some time, but only now they are gaining popularity among Malaysian Gen-Y population.
some interesting facts, Nokia was (and is) the best selling phones in late 90s because it is easy for users to send short message text, or fondly known as texting. and for some, texting via virtual/on-screen keyboard is not as fun as it should be. hence, Blackberry who has always been known for its superb qwerty keyboard begin their march.
so why the sudden popularity? here's why.
- physical keyboard. the main selling point for the cult of Blackberry.
- the professional look. unlike iPhone, if you're seen with a Blackberry, you are seen as a corporate figure. Very the executive
- email experience. Blackberry has the best email experience. you can retrieve and respond to your email whole day long, yet your Blackberry will not run out of battery juice like other phones.
- as mention above, the battery. Blackberry is a low-consumption device.
- most importantly, the Blackberry Messenger. it's like normal Instant Messenger, but only for Blackberry users. and it's encrypted, for goodness sake! how cool is that? you get to gossip all day long in a secured manner!
we also have this new boy in town, professing to be the next IN thing in smartphone teams. the green Android.
who are the users? well, they are the ones who would like to have the iPhone experience, but they hate of being told what to do and what they cannot do. what they can and what they cannot have. all in all, they are looking for the freedom in their smartphone experiences. these people are not your typical users. they know their thangs about smartphones and gadgets, and they are very adventerous. what attracts them to Android then?
- the freedom to choose the hardware, the apps, the way they interact with their belongings
- those who once called iPhone as suck-ass, but yet attracted to it, but decided not to join the iPhone team as it may hurt their pride and ego
- would like to be amongst the pioneers, as Android OS is the new kid in town.
- looking for the best alternative for iPhone
- they are the proponent of the open-ness in technology
- Android phone have access to latest hardwares and configurations
to summarize:-
iPhone - simplicity
Blackberry - BlackBerry Messenger
Android - adventureous
WinMo and Symbian?
bah, humbug!

cheechako \ chee-CHAH-koh \ , noun;
A tenderfoot; greenhorn; newcomer

2. As a cheechako to Hawaii I wasn't sure what to expect, but right from the beginning the crafters made me feel right at home.

the quest for iPad
i was looking for iPad 64GB 3G+wifi, and i was suprised that it's price is rm3200++.
for something that is suppose to be the 3rd device between iPhone and Notebook, it sure cost a lot than my notebook! (OK la, maybe sebab MacBook Pro and iPhone mahal, hence Apple users are okay with the price)
due to the price factor, i am now officially closing the wishlist for iPad.. maybe for the 64GB 3G+wifi.
16GB wifi only pun sounds nice kan? hehehe
kita tengok dulu berapa harga dia.

Tech talk part 1
Right now, I'm in a dilemma. You see, if it's possible, I do not want to ditch my BB Bold or BetBold as I call it.
But, with regards to integration with MS Exchange, Nokia is leading the way. What makes them different is they have the MS Communicator! Although I'm not sure if it can be connected to our VPN or not.
But the real concern here is, as I'm a frequent traveller, I suddenly feel the urge to have an iPad. ...

reflection
alright, the certificates of halal is issued so that us Muslims in Malaysia can safely be assured that the food to be consumed is Halalun Toyyiba.
from the story of McD halal certificates being pulled by JAKIM (which JAKIM has responded via announcement at their website that McD foods are halal) to the fatwa issued by Yusof Al-Qardhawi (which mentioned that it is a jihad in avoiding and boycotting all products that goes to funding of Israel).
i know at least one reader (if there is any lah) will go against me, but here are my thought on this.
so long as McD is employing Muslims, then i will at least buy their products. i feel obliged to ensure that my fellow brothers and sisters are getting paid, and have steady source of income
until there is a replacement or substitute to what McD offers, then i'll still patronising their outlets
so long as the food is halal, then i have no problem with it.
on the issue that we should stop supporting corporations that support Israel, have we reflect back at ourself?
have we find the real reason on why they are so powerful?
because as much as they are in the dog-eat-dog world, they are united by a purpose.
for the jews, at least they have the Zionist agenda in mind. and they work together towards it.
us, Muslims in the world?
we can even hardly agree on Palestine issue(s)!
the parties to be held responsible, and for us to vent our angers are not the Israeli, the Jews or the Christians.
it's us. it's the Islamic countries. we are the ones ignoring the plights of our brothers and sisters.
and as i mentioned in my earlier entries, the Palestinian also.
i mean, i would be more than glad to sadaqah my belongings to them.
but will i get the assurance that those money, will not be used in buying rockets, weapons and bullets?
entahlah.
renung-renungkan, dan selamat beramal.
p/s: berapa ramai guna iPhone, Nokia, Sony Ericcson? guna CSL laaahh kalau betul2 nak boikot barang Israel.

the big clock tower at mekah
and of all places, at Makkatul Mukarramah?
people flock into Makkah because we want to be closer to God, as we are in the Tanah Haram, in the holiest place in Islam. the place where Hajar did the first Sa'ie between Safa and Marwah.
the place that Prophet Muhammad S.A.W liberated from the musyrikin by destroying the statues of false idols in the vicinity of Masjidil Haram.
when the money can be used to liberate the 3rd holiest place, Masjidil-Aqsa from the Zionist...
what a waste...

Harapan Ramadhan
Have you ever forwarded email(s) to friends and colleagues, email filled with hadith, some facts on the religion, some picture/video on things which may be a lesson learned to our Muslim brothers and sisters.
For example,
- the hadith on kelebihan solat tarawikh
- some facts on Osama Laden and the terrorist attacks
- "saya berikrar akan forward email ini"...
- etc
I also received them. And whenever I received this kind of email, I always check for the authenticity of it. And when my doubt is proven, I always reply back to the sender
"Thanks for the reminder. But I think that the facts in the email tu mcm questionable lah. Blah blah blah blah"
And the response I always get,
"Owh.. But as long it encourage people to do good things, and for the good cause, apa salahnya kan"
What's wrong with that u say?
In Islam, there is a saying, "Matlamat tidak menghalalkan cara" = the end does not justify the means.
Even if the intention is good, you still cannot convey false message or hope to the masses. It is called misleading. You cannot go and preach to the people with a half-cooked and false sermon and facts.
It's like saying,
"Drink vitagen. As it will make you slimmer and live a long life".
When people told you that, "hey, vitagen assists in good digestion system. It does not directly related to slimmer tummy and longer life".
So I naturally should respond, "it's ok. At least this will increase number of people drinking vitagen, and it's for their own good!"
Yes, I understand that we mean well. All we want is to share the knowledge and benefits to others, so they may want to join us as well.
But seriously, if we are to preach to others, always remember 5 attributes of the prophets and nabi- nabi Allah.
1. Siddiq / siddik / sidiq / sidik
Kapish?

i am resisting the temptation of getting an iPad.
cepat laa Android 2.0 tablet berada di pasaran!!!!

i'm supporting Android and RIM now.
RIM disappoints me. BB Torch is sooo like my old XDA IIs. even the resolution pun lower than most smartphone. Android? until now Malaysia yet to receive or has any android tablet.
meh
so,
- iPhone 4 is a masterpiece.
- it is like no other phone, with its RetinaDisplay, Facetime, true multitasking, etc
- it suffers the same problem, the attenuation of signal, like other phones
- other phones already have video-call, multitasking, etc

takde idea
memula nak buat entry bashing on Apple iPhone 4, tapi takpe la..malas
then ingat nak write about Android Froyo 2.2. tu pun malas jugak.
belum lagi about current development in the Company.
anyway, let us discuss about how to write a good resume. shall we?
purpose of resume or CV, is to assist recruiters to identify potential candidates. not for candidates to identify where they want to work.
to be continued...

It's May
I think the reason of celebrating Labour Day is to commerate the success of buregois (I have no idea how to spell it) revolution against the proletariant (again, I am too lazy to use spellcheck and synonym) oppression.
Does that sound too Socialism or Communism? Too bad. Believe it or not, as much as we live in so-called Capitalism Democracy world, we are actually celebrating Socialism :) how ironic eh?
Then in middle of this month, the topic of racial riot, emergency, racial (dis)harmony and what not; will be raised as a gloom reminder of 16th May. The black May. The Broom Day. The day when prejudice and distrust overrules all. Question is: what have we learned from that day?
May will be closed by annual celebration of Tadau Kaamatan. The Harvest Festival for KadazanDusunMurut people of Sabah, Land Below the Wind. Legend tells that long time ago, the people were faced with long drought affecting their crops. The god, Bambazon (again I need to check on this. I am writing this while having roti canai) sacrificed his daughter, and spread her bodies on earth. And after that, the drought ended and the people were blessed with bountiful crops and harvest.
Am looking forward for this year's Kaamatan (as I missed it last year, due to some business at KL). The Unduk Ngadau (seriously, u want to google it hehehe) and Sogundai.
Last but not least, aramaiti la kita semua!!!

friendly reminder to all colleagues
it is announced, mostly on the surface level, that the employees will be getting an increase in their salary.
it is good news indeed.
the next time those engineers complains that they are not getting enough, i'm gonna shove this fact down their throat.
so the employees for sure are anticipating more details on how much increase they will be getting.
but lads, here are few friendly advice(s).
this is a clear signal:
PERFORM OUTSTANDINGLY and the company will REWARD you.
the Company will reward those it sees fit, meaning those who contributes and goes extra mile outside normal responsibilities.
MEETING REQUIREMENTS are no longer satisfactory. all staff is expected to perform to bring the company to greater heights.
those who do not fits into these requirements, will be in bottom 10% percent. and no one is IRREPLACEABLE.
when the company starts paying you more, the company expects more from you.
are we up to the challenge?

It's 2am, and the whole family is having late supper outside the house, with the dark sky as our roof. This might be the last supper for 9 of us. As soon, it's gonna be 10 of us.
Here are some photos for your viewing pleasures

ok this is something i never saw it coming... yet it is happening
2nd attempt of cooking dinner
In ensuring balance of nutrients, I bought a round cabbage and fishballs for my soup.
After grilling the chickens on the stove for about 25 minutes, and spent 10 minutes preparing the cabbage soup, I made myself a healthy meal for dinner.
No oil (except in ensuring the pan was not too sticky), less fat (the chicken's fats provided the oil) and less salt (in the soup).

Movie Review: Percy Jackson and The Lightning Thief
the Greek mythologies never ceases to amaze me. they are a product of hundreds of years of oral-story telling passed down generation to generation, and the main story has multiple spin-offs. Unlike our local folk-lore, they even have proper background stories for each character.
(although come to think of it, based on Hikayat Melayu or something, we are descendants of great Greek emperor.. if we are talking about the same Iskandar Agung lah)
ok, i'm digressing.
my point is, if you want to see US twist of this Greek myths, in other words this series practically stripped Greece of its Gods!, then watch this.
as for me, i find this movie interesting. although there were some plot holes, and not strong acting, but by comparing this with 1st Harry Potter, i find this even more enjoyable.
conclusion: this movie kinda made me feel "i should read the books!", since there are lots of things unexplained. but for those who want to just have fun and enjoy an innocent movie, go and get yourself a good seat(s).

Movie Review: The Wolfman
happy valentine's day
- dear sister is getting married this April. and yesterday we just officially declared her (and her fiancee) house is now open to the public. had a small do'a selamat and yasin recital, and big portion of food. us providing the BBQ chicken and sausage and salsa sauce; whilst the fiancee side with masakan kampung i.e udang sambal petai, ulam-ulaman, gulai nangka, kerabu mangga, ikan masin goreng, dll. oh ya, the akad nikah is planned to be held on 23rd april, while the walimah will be on 24th april. the 1st one for nazlan clan.
- and maybe come october, the 2nd one. as another sister is also planning to get married. but details yet to confirmed. alang2 tu, 2 marriages terus! the parents cant wait to have cucu :)
- dat said, when i asked my sister, "nak abgmil ada ke time ur nikah and walimah nanti?". and the question was answered with a simple statement, "gila ke abgmil takda?"
- it's a wonderful and quiet valentine's day for me this year. no V-Day msg for me.
- after a month of tak-balik KL, i spent my one week in KL as a devout anti-social person. spent most of my time in my room; surfing Net, downloading torrents, and texting people(s). played badminton once, and met the gfs once also. oh ya, i slept a lot. took a day off just to sleep. and when i woke up, i was bored, so i decided to continue sleeping. yes, i'm the male version of sleeping beauty. even she called me Raja Tidur.
- watched Percy Jackson alone, and upon exiting the cinema hall, met Anaz Dean. and she was surprised that i went to the movie ALONE! she said, "bukan u banyak kawan ke?".. yeap, i hv tonnes of friend. but semua busy. nak buat macam mana. baik duduk diam2 kat KK.
- spent the whole week thinking of getting myself a MacBook (no thanks to Jai!). been getting loads of hints and signs why i should get one i.e Farih is buying one, saw An Independent Guide to the Mac magazine, news on Apple Store temporarily close, etc etc... but as much as i'd love to quote Paulo Coelho "when you want something so bad, the whole universe will conspire to make it happen", a big chunk of reality bite me. i'm still owing CIMB bank RM3k, for my credit card bill. settle the debt first ok.
- so, while lepaking with Lan, Syeena and Nodi on V-Day eve, told them of the news. and lan sungguh tak puas hati hahahaha
- i want to buy a house, not in KL, but in KK. yes people, i'm planning to settle down here in KK. best woo.
- after a week of anti-socialising in KL (balik pun macam tak balik je. tak lepak dgn sesapa pun. tapi spent loads of time with family! yeay!), i'm bored of KL. ye, KL bosan! hehehehe
- Owh, attended a workshop last week, and am so inspired with it. watch out peeps! a new definition if HR is coming through.
- shoot. am suppose to be sleeping right now. esok nak jalan2 cuti2 Malaysia kat Sabah ni :) with local tour guide hehehe

how to choose a netbook - geek guide made simple
Nod, to assist you.
1st thing, it’s a good idea indeed to do that. In fact, I plugged in my netbook to my tv to enjoy downloaded movies. Feel gila. Make sure you plugged in the audio jack as well lah.
2nd thing, speed. Most netbook come with standard processor speed. It can open multiple apps, but expect some hang time if u open up lots of application and leave it running at the background.
3rd thing, space. Hard disk space. Netbooks come in 2 varieties 1) normal hard disk usually in variations of 80/100/120 GB. 2) Solid-State-Drive (SSD) comes in variations of 8/16/24/32 GB. While normal HardDisk can have huge volume of data, SSD is more durable. Example, if jatuh kea pa ke, SSD takkan rosak dengan mudah, unlike normal Hard Disk. Reason why? Sebab SSD uses same technology as Thumbdrive. But remember, SSD netbook sangat mahal.
4th thing, cost. Don’t be fooled with “oh-this-is-cheap-and-from-
Best netbook will be of light, weight around 1 kg – 1.5 kg; must have wi-fi and Bluetooth; multiple USB ports (2 is not enough); built-in webcam; good ergonomics (meaning u have to test the mouse pad and keyboard first!); and also good display and sound (meaning it wont glare. Don’t be fooled with the Dolby Speaker, NVIDIA Graphic card and what not. At the end of the day, you’ll use it to do some spreadsheet, listen to music and watch movies with the earphone plugged into the audio port). Price range should be of RM 1300 – RM1800.
So far I’m quite happy with my BetNet, AcerOne Aspire netbook. Asus eePC is good as well. HP Mini pun nice. But its awkward mouse pad turned me off.
At the end of the day, if you have found various netbooks with the same price and specs (which they will be), always choose based on these criteria (the most important at the bottom)
· Battery life time (it wont be fun to be constantly charging your netbook’s battery)
· Warranty coverage (so you know how long you can perform crash test to your netbook)
· How it looks like (hey, who would want to be seen with hideous netbook? Even if it powered with super-fast processor?)
Hope this geek guide helps a lot.

HR Lecture Series:#1 How to be A World Class Player by En Zaharan
- Differentiation - differentiation is an action taken for us to be unique. and why should we be unique? it is important to be unique, so as people will see us differently. But the key question here is How? for HR, it's through exceptional customer service, and good branding.
- Focus - the inability to focus is the ability to self-destruct. to achieve the target, one must focus on the end state, and the means to reach there. as how the ability to focus is very important to sharpshooters, golfers, keglers and race drivers; HR practitioners need to focus on what do we want to be, and are the things we are doing now supporting that path?
- Think and Act Global - this is in line with the glocal mindset. PETRONAS is able to become a global Oil and Gas company because it thinks and acts as a global player. For HR to be able to support and become PETRONAS' business partner, we have to be at the same level with the Business and Operation are. For HR practitioners, being global is to serve PETRONAS' presence around the world.
- Perpetual Spirit of Innovation - to be a world class player, one must have the spirit of Kaizen a.k.a continuous improvement. Be it in HR processes or policies. Stagnant is a one way road to be the last in the race.
- Sensitive Radar System - HR practitioners should be sensitive to the business landscape and environment, as how the market analyst is sensitive to market movement. Changes in economic landscape might cause surplus of talent, or worse, high attrition caused by massive resignation due to better job prospects at competitors. HR practitioners, with focus, should be able to detect changes and make necessary strategy re-evaluation should the situation requires so.
- Retention of Talent - World class football team has world class players. The same thing applies to any organisation. for PETRONAS to maintain its status as Fortune 500 companies, HR needs to ensure that the organisation consists of world class talents. Thus, talent retention within PETRONAS is important in ensuring the sustainability of our Operations.
- Social and Environmental Responsibilities - apart from good business performance history, company's reputation is important in getting that lucrative contracts. and this is where we need to be seen as actively involved. HR practitioners need to take this opportunity to be part of this area, for this is indeed a good platform for HR to be seen among the staffs and have good rapport.

persiapan perkahwinan
Oh ya, btw, aku lmbt lagi. Still looking for the one.
But that doesn't mean that I can't talk about this kan? Anyway, mite be helpful la kot since my younger sister is planning to tie the knot this coming april.
So, how do I envision my wedding will be? Two words: simple and fun.
Simple as if I'm gonna do it at home (I kinda miss the gotong royong environment), and fun because I'm gonna ask my cousins and friends to be the helpers :p
It's gonna be a tiring yet wonderful experiences for all hehehe I can assure that.
Before I even consider to get married, both me and my partner is to fulfil this requirements:
- owns a house (preferably under her name. I strongly believe the house should be under the wife's name, but of course it's the husband that should bear the cost)
- a car (this should be under my name)
- blessings from both sides, inclusive of extended family too (u do not want to have relatives who kinda opposed the marriage. Imagine how the situation would be during har raya gatherings)
- enough savings (preferably rm10k each)
- credit card debt cleared
- we've been camping at remote areas together (so as to know our true colours when we're out of our comfort zone)
and mentioned earlier, the walimah (at least at my side) should be simple and fun, yet stays true to the customs.
How to know she's the one? For me, it's when my heart says so, and she also shows it clearly. I've had enough of receiving hints, only to know it's more for attention than care and love.
Maybe 2010 is the year?
P/s: congrats to all my friends yg dah bertunang and kawin, also those yg menerima zuriat :)
