District 87 - Toastmasters Leadership Institute - Round 1 14/08/2010

Some key points gathered during TLI session.

- maintain childlike curiousity
- TM must be willing to learn, and TM must be willing to serve/share
- understand the objectives
- always understand the bigger meaning of the job
- DCP ( Distinguished Club Program)
- to relate club's target with members' personal target of joining TM
- tips on public speaking: interjects with stories related to current
topic
- TM agenda: to make yourself a better speaker
- if you don't keep in touch with your client, you'll lose them
- Toastmaster of the Day will call/contact members to attend the meeting
- Booking book - assignment of roles done right before the meeting ends
- TM consists of 3 elements 1) manual speeches 2) table topic 3)
fellowship - after session meet up
- how to convert guest to member --> keep tab on their attendance
- to include the guests in any discussion among members, and make them
feel welcomed
- club success plan, charting Activities, Situation Analysis, Goals,
Strategy, Resources, Assignment, Time Frame, Actual Completion
