death

today again, i received a friendly reminder from the Almighty.
repent, as death is just next to us.

tantan tweeted about death and sakaratul-maut 2 days ago.
and earlier this morning (on Tuesday), one of my grandfather passed away.
and only now i am feeling sad for the loss, on behalf of my grandmother.

also for the note, when i die, during my funeral, please do not read the "talkin" for me. rather, do a short sermon to all who will be at the funeral, on what death is all about, and what preparations are to make.

It's May

We started May with celebrating Labour Day.

I think the reason of celebrating Labour Day is to commerate the success of buregois (I have no idea how to spell it) revolution against the proletariant (again, I am too lazy to use spellcheck and synonym) oppression.
Does that sound too Socialism or Communism? Too bad. Believe it or not, as much as we live in so-called Capitalism Democracy world, we are actually celebrating Socialism :) how ironic eh?

Then in middle of this month, the topic of racial riot, emergency, racial (dis)harmony and what not; will be raised as a gloom reminder of 16th May. The black May. The Broom Day. The day when prejudice and distrust overrules all. Question is: what have we learned from that day?

May will be closed by annual celebration of Tadau Kaamatan. The Harvest Festival for KadazanDusunMurut people of Sabah, Land Below the Wind. Legend tells that long time ago, the people were faced with long drought affecting their crops. The god, Bambazon (again I need to check on this. I am writing this while having roti canai) sacrificed his daughter, and spread her bodies on earth. And after that, the drought ended and the people were blessed with bountiful crops and harvest.
Am looking forward for this year's Kaamatan (as I missed it last year, due to some business at KL). The Unduk Ngadau (seriously, u want to google it hehehe) and Sogundai.

Last but not least, aramaiti la kita semua!!!

friendly reminder to all colleagues

so the President made an explosive announcement (and quite timely, since most of the workforce were already packed to leave the office for the Labour Day weekend) last Thursday.
it is announced, mostly on the surface level, that the employees will be getting an increase in their salary.
it is good news indeed.
the next time those engineers complains that they are not getting enough, i'm gonna shove this fact down their throat.

so the employees for sure are anticipating more details on how much increase they will be getting.

but lads, here are few friendly advice(s).

this is a clear signal:
PERFORM OUTSTANDINGLY and the company will REWARD you.
the Company will reward those it sees fit, meaning those who contributes and goes extra mile outside normal responsibilities.
MEETING REQUIREMENTS are no longer satisfactory. all staff is expected to perform to bring the company to greater heights.
those who do not fits into these requirements, will be in bottom 10% percent. and no one is IRREPLACEABLE.

when the company starts paying you more, the company expects more from you.

are we up to the challenge?

Less than 24 hours

Here we are, with the clock ticking and it is now less than 24 hours before the solemnization ceremony take place.

The makciks and pakciks are coming batches by batches, with full force expected to be here by noon. As the akad nikah will be held in the evening.

It's 2am, and the whole family is having late supper outside the house, with the dark sky as our roof. This might be the last supper for 9 of us. As soon, it's gonna be 10 of us.

Here are some photos for your viewing pleasures

entry pagi sabtu

few announcements to makee:

my sister (Alya Amalina) is getting married on 24th April 2010. the reception will be held at our house.

the ego side of me is still coping with this news. plus the fact that she already has her own car and own place to live in, it's just too much for me.
but on the other side, i am soooooooooooooooooooooooooo happy for her! i can't believe my younger sister is getting married. feels like macam baru je last month tulis entry pasal their engagement.

i'm officially transferred to another section, still in KK

although the transfer is because of giving the opportunity to my colleague for exposure in Planning, i am happy because i'm being exposed to Development side next FY. meaning am going to cover 4 HR areas within 4 years in the company.

ok, sambung later. nak pergi main paintball

share you recipes here!

peeps, i am currently hooked to AFC, especially the Licence to Grill. as a BBQ enthusiast, i feel compelled to have the perfect BBQ, and to outdo Robert Rainford (tu kan nama dia?) by creating a perfect grilled dish with a grill burnt by charcoals, not by gas.

anyway, i am also prepping myself with cooking techniques.
so please feel free to share with me your recipes for superb dishes! (link pun boleh laa)

ok this is something i never saw it coming... yet it is happening

ok this post is actually a retaliation to this post.

"why didn't you tell me?"

so, TanTan is getting married. and i am pissed off.
why?

sebab...
sebab...

sebab...

sebab aku tahu pasal her big thing via her blog. >:|
and until now i have no info whatsoever, except for those posted on her blog.

fine!

aku kawin nanti aku ajak thru blog ni je laaa...

(hehehe..jom merajuk jom)

2nd attempt of cooking dinner

So I bought 2 piece of chicken's thighs (breast+drumstick), marinated of course (since 1st attempt I kinda grilled chicken meat without any seasoning).

In ensuring balance of nutrients, I bought a round cabbage and fishballs for my soup.

After grilling the chickens on the stove for about 25 minutes, and spent 10 minutes preparing the cabbage soup, I made myself a healthy meal for dinner.

No oil (except in ensuring the pan was not too sticky), less fat (the chicken's fats provided the oil) and less salt (in the soup).
