a trip to remember
went out to aquaria KLCC with pjah the other day. the place is awesome!
the exhibition was breath-taking. visitors should be awed and amazed, as there are millions of sea-and-river living creatures being displayed.

and then the goal was scored~
we just lost a match. Ultracrocs CF 1 - 3 Azurri FC. thanks to me.
right after Azurri scored the 2nd goal, the team was demoralised. to be honest, i felt as if the whole team plus the supporters were against me.
the 3rd goal was the final straw for some players. they even suggested that the goalkeeper is to be substituted.
they told me to trust the defenders. of course i trust them. that's why i decided to run outside the penalty box just to clear the ball, thinking that the defenders will cover me up.
they told me that the 3rd goal was a stupid mistake. well, shit happens. and it chose to happen exactly that time, when the ball slipped through my armpit just as i was about to drop my body.
shit happens. big deal. temper overflares. big deal. i cried. big deal. we lost. we need to rebound.
when the striker failed to convert chances, he is forgiven. when the goalkeeper failed to stop the opponent from scoring goal, he is the culprit. but when the goalkeeper did schoolboy and stupid mistakes, he is worthless. big deal.
when is the right time for the goalkeeper to charge ahead, and when is the right time for the goalkeeper to stand back at the goalpost? people keep on telling me, you should just charge when you feel you can do it, with great confidence. but how to tell that the confidence came at the right time?
to add insult to the injury, Azurri was having only 10 man on the field, as one player was sent off. and we were unable to capitalise on that advantage.
and right now, i feel shitty. managed to stop crying, but deep inside i am hurt. it is not the feeling of losing, but the feeling to know that your own team-mates felt you are worthless.

forgive me for being so insensitive (heck, i AM being sensitive by starting my sentence with apologetic words), but :
as my blog title goes, "things happen for reasons". there are reasons of why the government decides to increase the fuel price. this "let-me-subsidize-you-all-the-way" culture is not the direction we are heading. the truth is, it is the subsidize culture that made the Malays to be ever complacent in every fields. just look at me. and yourself too. i am lacking of vision and the need to progress and go further because deep inside me, there is one small voice. so small, that i tend to believe what it is saying. it keep on saying, "relax laa...the government will always ensure that the Malay people will get job..or be employed..or at least survive the globalisation onslaught"
yes, i know that most people, mainly from middle-class people, are terribily affected by the price hike. i'm still studying, and coincidentally, my father is currently unemployed. and i do feel the effects of this price hike. and i believe that means, i am one of you people. but do i suffer? no. do i take it to the road? no. why? because i believe. i believe that things happen for reasons. and the government, whom i believe is working on the purpose of "menjaga kebajikan rakyat", will never do this drastic measures, without any good motives.
once Pak Lah was asked, "why take this unpopular action? aren't you afraid of losing people's confidence and votes?" He replied ,"the government would be able to use the surplus recovered to improve people's condition, and to successfully implement Malaysia Ninth Plan" (or something like that laa..can't remember the exact words hehe) and do you know that, the number of people using vehicles is only minority. and why should the government spent the people's money on the minority part?
which brings us to another popular discussion topic at selected 'kedai kopi'.
forgive me for being so insensitive (heck, i AM being sensitive by starting my sentence with apologetic words), but :
- is it really necessary for the people to protest like this?
- is it appropriate for the common people to express their disagreement on the road?
- is it important for them to follow what our ASEAN brothers did when they disagree with their government actions?

FYI, this has got nothing to do with PETRONAS. in fact, PETRONAS's profits should never be used by the government. if the government should wanted to do so, they might as well forced SHELL, EXXONMOBIL and other Oil and Gas companies based in Malaysia to channel their profits into Malaysia's government coffers. or even better, help to finance the petrol cost.
these Oil and Gas companies are business entities. they existed solely for one purpose. to produce wealth. to whom? to the shareholders. who are these shareholders? go figure out yourself.
when people revolts because they are being oppressed, then that should be supported. but when some parties (political or not) decided to ride on the issues in order to gain support from the public, that is another story. without shame, with no remorse, they tried to rally the people to go against the government. for goodness sake, WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF HAVING OPPOSITION SIDE IN THE PARLIAMENT?
where is this check-and-balance part supposed to be played by the opposition parties? do we really need to make life difficult for others, just for the sake of gaining support? have you ever imagined on what this "demonstration" would do to our country? just in case you HAVE NO IDEA, then let me present to you this scenario.
one of the big multinational company decided to come and invest in Malaysia. although there are troublesome news from surrounding countries, due to political instability and demonstration, the investors are still having the confidence to do Foreign Direct Investment in Malaysia. benefits that can be gained by Malaysia from this FDI? more job creation for its people, and incoming technology transfers. but suddenly, these MNCs decided to hold their decision. why? because of current events happening in Malaysia. people were demonstrating and rioting. Foreign countries issued a travelling statement: IT IS ADVISABLE OF NOT TO ENTER MALAYSIA.
the number of foreign investment dropped. same thing happened to numbers of foreign tourist.
do we need this?
how to cope with this price hike? adjust back our lifestyle. do consume less petrol, which means, please use public transportation. carpool. don't spend lavishly on unnecessary things.
and please, no demonstration please. i know it's exciting to do/join. the adrenaline rush, the excitement, the voices that representing the oppressed. a friend of mine, said that her first time of participating in a demo was good, she's considering of joining future demonstration.
don't be a fool.

taegukgi [brotherhood]
this movie is simply superb.
just watched Teagukgi last night. The story mainly focuses on the hardships went through by two brothers who were drafted into South Korean army. The older brother (whose name i dont' remember :p ) tried to get his younger brother back home, so he could continue studying. to do so, he did heroic attempts to earn a medal. a medal that would allow his younger brother to be sent back home.
unaware of his older brother's intention, the younger one was committed to fight the war together with his brother, and to be back together with his brother.
this movie has everything the movie-goers and audience craved for. there are gory scenes, actions, dramas, internal conflicts, love, betrayal, and redemption.
Taegukgi invites you to a roller-coaster ride of emotional and action.

pRoJecT: Jan 02 Dis-OrienTed Batch DinneR
Jan o2 peeps! this is to announce that an ad-Hoc komiti for Jan 02 batch dinner has been established. representatives from each courses were there, except for EE. i guess they were busy with their cuircuits kot that night..heheehe
anyway, the idea of having bacth dinner was mooted from several IT/S students that wanted to have a proper and grand dinner together before graduating. a batch dinner. ideas and suggestions were given, however no body was there to formalise it. then came Wan Anas. he pitched the idea to IT and IS students, plus informing other Engineering students about the idea.

and then, came the winning goal ...
ultracrocs CF vs Nisaa FC
following the momentum gained from last match, where we won 2-0, the team played confidently. prior to the game, there were some not-good news about to dampen the team's spirit. first of all, three of our players might not be able to play due to clash with academic test. and the most heart-breaking news is that, our prized-centre back, Doi, was injured. he fractured his right leg, and unable to play throughout the campaign.
nevertheless, the game must go on. with that spirit, we played our hearts out.
it was a thriller. ultracrocs CF keeper (which is me) stumbled, and unable to stop the opponents from scoring two goals in the first half, followed by one goal in the second half. the keeper did school-boy mistakes. he basically slipped the ball. adeh~ looks like i have to train harder after this! ganbatte ne~
ultracrocs CF, living up to its name, won the game by scoring 4 goals. each from kimi, pejol (he scored from centre-half), jose maria, and cassy. it was cassy's goal that made me nearly cried. the free kick he took was marvellous.
and some credits for me tho. i managed to save Nisaa's penalty kick. it was sheer luck. the ball was slow, and it was directed directly to me.
in the end, we won the game. i am thankful for the fact that i might not be playing well as i hoped, but the team really played well. silly mistakes should not happen again.
another thing. while trying to save an attempt, i was given a yellow card. and that's why Nisaa got their penalty kick. at least, the card given was worth it.
and now, i am very tired.
and i am missing someone.

new template
after a year of having the same template, decided to change.
due to new network control done by UTP's ITMS, peeps surfing Internet from hostels are unable to be connected/viewed shoutmix/taggie board. it is with sorrow to announce that since i can't access my shoutmix, i've decided to let it go.
the layout might be messy, but i'll leave it dat way..hehe..am too lazy to change anything.
btw, am still in the process of refreshing and updating my lists of bloggie friends and links. just watch out for the My Links space!
