the alchemist

i found myself re-reading The Alchemist.

this time, thanks to Ms Stalker. one of our common interest is reading. so we shared among us, books that we read, favourite authors and favourite books as well. and coincidentally, we both agree that The Alchemist is a good book.

(the fact that most people i knew who loved reading also has The Alchemist as one of their favourite books, will not be highlighted here, for the purpose of sensationalising this entry)

She likes the prologue.
"i weep for Narcissus, but i never noticed that Narcissus was beautiful. i weep because, each time he knelt beside my banks, i could see, in the depths of his eyes, my own beauty reflected."

i love the part when Santiago wanted to be turned into wind.
"Because when we love, we always strive to become better than we are"

i am now re-evaluating on what is my Personal Legend? will i finally realise the omens that passed right before my very eyes?

And when you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.

uh..now now, why i never heard of this book? perhaps i'm more into malay literature than english literature or perhaps i'm just damn lazy to read. couldn't even finish mitch albom's yesterday once more since last bought it in february this year. :P

i read the synopsis over wiki, it's sound like a good book but i think i will take some time to read it since it's-chasing-your-dream-kinda book which i'm quite reluctant to read most of the time. :p

hahahaha. i like philosophical book but what i kinda not so prefer is magic-related, potion, mana, sorcerer, witch and related items kinda of book. i have weak mind for magic book like harry potter, LOTR and such. couldn't even read it.

perhaps i'm too much of a realist (or a pessimist cynic).
