Projek TEKAD PERAK 2005

pre-TEKAD

it was in early July when suddenly Aizan called me and asked, "bet, i ada idea star wars nih..bear with me k..what if we do the next Projek TEKAD at UTP? somewhere in mid august?" hearing that, i replied," well..august shud be fine..but if i'm not mistaken, mid august nnt kat UTP ade convofair and convo thingy"...so Aizan asked me to check when is the exact date of UTP Convocation day, and for me to suggest dates for TEKAD PERAK..

proposed to Aizan for TEKAD to be held around 6-7th august..and that is when Aizan started to head-hunt potential candidated to be part of the crazy house of TEKAD PERAK core team. After several weeks of
persuading and inviting, TEKAD PERAK core team was established. the mad house victims? Aizan, Anang, Ca'aint, Ray, Lolyta, Asma, Poji, Farih n me.

we had about one month plus to prepare everyhting..and believe me when i'm telling you that this TEKAD is a fast track project! the core team had to prepare everyhting from co-ordinating ToT, to module preparation, to coaches selection process, till preparation of the venue for PROJEK TEKAD PERAK 2005.

the ToT

Aizan stressed out the importance for selected coaches to be able to make it for TEKAD's Training of Trainers session (ToT). therefore, several coaches from previous TEKAD had to be rejected from the list
of successful candidates. the ToT itself went smoothly..several new modules were introduced this time around, thanks to Poji's and Anang's ideas. This time around, the TEKAD Race consists of 5 modules namely
Paper Cup Tower; Volcanoes; Sambutlah Harapanku; TEKAD Minesweeper and TEKAD-sim.

several days before D-Day

as usual, e-mails were flying around the core team members. days were numbered with the amount of emails flying sent and received. the nearer we were to the D-Day, the numbers of e-mails were stockpiling :)

meetings were the norms.. and for us, the UTP team, travelling to and fro KL and UTP in one night(or morning) is a normal thing to do.. personally, for me, UTP is like a stone throw away :p

the core team was living up to their group name: Maniacs Version 3.
yes, we called ourselves Maniacs. Why? because we believe that it takes only maniacs to do this kind of tasks in such a short period of time. Maniacs with purposes, filled with desire to achieve excellencies, and driven by the volunteerism virus

24 Hours before D-Day

sleep is the luxury that we cannot afford. therefore, we tend to steal some time to get some rest and sleep. for UTP dungga gang, we were very excited plus nervous. Have we done enuff preparations prior to
coaches registration? is there anything we missed out? even Anang himself sacrificed his sleeps just to make sure that the preparations had been done thoroughly. eyebags began to appear underneath our cute eyes...

8 hours before champions registration

coaches briefing session. before that, the coaches feasted on cappatis brought by Raj, the famous satay bota, and some nasi bungkus for the core team..some briefing done on champions registrations flow, modules
and activtities for tomorrow, and the need for the coaches to have good rest.

while the coaches slept throughout the night, the core team stayed awake till wee hours. some preparations need to be finalised. some preparations to be done. counters setup, hall setup, signage setup,
and other thing, plus the movement for Sunday's aerobic session..the module team was given the responsibility to conduct the aerobic session.

thanks to Usop (i had to mention his name.need to give him some credit, else somebody will cut off my head), the module team managed to master a unique japanese culture, called para-para dance..little that we know how this para-para thing would create an impact on this TEKAD.
