what i did last weekend~~

Cuti-cuti RC July 2005

it was an escapade longed by most of us..most of us need to take a break from the hectic life..all the piling assignments, the over-worked mind, the overloaded capacity of thinking and studying...and most importantly, the pressure on our Final Year Project papers.

the real purpose of Cuti-cuti RC is for the RCSU members to have fun together in an environment outside UTP. RCSU is basically a volunteerary body that helps the Residential College management in managing and maintaining students' welfare in their respective hostels, or also known as Residential Colleges.

but for us, Final Year students, it was an escapade that we really need~

the trip from UTP to Pangkor took us around 1hour 30 minutes. We stayed at NipahMas challet, which is a good place to stay. the rooms there are equipped with two beds that can be occupied by two person per bed; an air-conditioning system; and bathroom complete with water-heater. after lunch, took a short nap..which is basically one-hour long :) and the girls? they went for souvenirs shopping spree.
around 2.45pm, most of the boys retreated to the nearest beach, while the girls went back to their rooms for their lovely afternoon nap.

the boys, hereby mentioned as we, started to berendam all evening. from 2.45pm until the dawn started to settle down. throughout the berendam session, we managed to ride banana boat, kayaking and had bowls of refreshing ABCs :)

while the girls, later in the evening, had their jet skis ride..what pissed most of the boys was that the girls were accompanied by "abang" in-charge of the jet-ski while riding that thing..basically, "ada abang teman derang naik jet-ski laaa"..hehehe

then, we had a sand-castle building competition..our castles were assaulted by the "tidal" waves ("time tu air tgh pasang"), plus physical attacks by other group members..then, each group was assigned to create an animal representation using the beach sands. the animals were: elephants, snakes, squids, jaws, and a hybrid of cockroach+ant..

that night, we had a bbq session...i intentionally decided not to help the juniors..hehe..i came all the way from UTP to enjoy myself..hehehe
after dinner, "Abg" Poji taught us new games, called "botol", "chap kalicap kalicap chap chap" and "gorgon!" (more on this in coming blogs)

Sunday..we were supposed to have a snorkelling session..woke up and got ready at the beach by 7.20am..had a quick dip in the sea that morning, when suddenly the waves were getting bigger, and the wind was blowing harder..it was the sign of bad weather..

cancelled the plan to snorkel, instead had our breakfast at the stall at the beach..unforgettable moments: was having our breakfast (nasi lemak), when "hujan pon turun, and tempias air hujan masuk ke nasi lemak..kiranya pagi tu makan nasi lemak berkuah..hoho" and btw, a girl-friend of mine, gave us a rare opportunity not to be missed.."muka awek comel yg rambutnya serabai and mengerbang ditiup angin" hehehe

when the rain stopped, some of us went back to the beach. the sea was very inviting. so, we went into the water, and played along with the waves..and we called ourselves "pemecah ombak", or wave breaker..."kiterang mandi pon kat tepi pantai je..kira cam main ombak jugak laa"...the waves made us rolled onto the beach, while some of us even had to perform summersaults, when we were pushed by the waves to the beach..

while we were having fun, came a big wave..when we were brought to the beach by the wave, came another 2 waves continuously "pounding" the beach..had a sensational feeling while in the waves..
when everything cleared (at least for me), somebody shouted to me, "adik, kawan tu dik!"..at first, i was like,"ni pesal plak nih?"..then a young man shouted, "dik, ambik kawan kat belakang tu!"..i turned around, and saw a friend of mine stood helplessly in the water..her face expression showed that she is near to crying and panic. ran to her, grabbed her and brought her to the beach..she was truly shocked, because when i grabbed her hand, she did not give any reaction.

luckily, nothing happened to us that day..and for that, i truly feel grateful to ALLAH.."mmg bersyukur sgt2" unfortunately, she's already taken..hehehe

and now, i am longing to go back to Pangkor...perhaps one day when life seems to be so cruel to me, i should go there to relieve my stress...

bET is riding the ombak~~

Projek TEKAD PERAK 2005 -part 2-

6th August 2005

the day started with quite a heavy breakfast..fried mee hoon with sambal and eggs. The meals came with teh tarik and nescafe panas. after breakfast, the coaches were given a refresher briefing by Asma and Aizan. around 7.45am, the first champion arrived.

the registration went on smoothly..except..quite a number of champions arrived late..luckily the core team had allocated half-an-hour buffer time to cater for this kind of problem..the kids came all the way from
Pangkor up to Parit Buntar..a total of 106 champions registered for Projek TEKAD PERAK

highlights of TEKAD PERAK:
- cheering war between platoons...the champions roared the hall!
- creative and innovative squads' cheer song
- Hati-ke-Hati session: coaches and champions alike managed to brush
off the desire to watch AF3 final...kudos to all of u :)
- TEKAD-robic session..had Para-para and Banghra dance as part of the routines
- the determination showed on champions' faces during TEKAD race. (TEKAD-sim, TEKAD paper cup tower, TEKAD volcanoes, TEKAD minegame, Sambutlah Harapanku)
- coaches and champions doing the para-para dance
- Cha'aint sharing his life experiences with the champions and the coaches
- the post mortem session..(Poket TEKAD = Projek TEKAD mispronounced)

but the biggest effect felt as the TEKAD aftermath is, most of female champions and coaches (gasp!) had this "minat" thing to one of my colleagues..Usop para-para..he is like Mawi in AF3..huhuhu

on behalf of UTP Dungga clan, i would like to take this opportunity to say thanks to the core team for giving us the responsibilities and trust in managing, creating and preparing the modules for TEKAD
PERAK..

TEKAD DIPAHAT, WAWASAN DIJULANG, KEJAYAAN DIGENGGAM

Projek TEKAD PERAK 2005

pre-TEKAD

it was in early July when suddenly Aizan called me and asked, "bet, i ada idea star wars nih..bear with me k..what if we do the next Projek TEKAD at UTP? somewhere in mid august?" hearing that, i replied," well..august shud be fine..but if i'm not mistaken, mid august nnt kat UTP ade convofair and convo thingy"...so Aizan asked me to check when is the exact date of UTP Convocation day, and for me to suggest dates for TEKAD PERAK..

proposed to Aizan for TEKAD to be held around 6-7th august..and that is when Aizan started to head-hunt potential candidated to be part of the crazy house of TEKAD PERAK core team. After several weeks of
persuading and inviting, TEKAD PERAK core team was established. the mad house victims? Aizan, Anang, Ca'aint, Ray, Lolyta, Asma, Poji, Farih n me.

we had about one month plus to prepare everyhting..and believe me when i'm telling you that this TEKAD is a fast track project! the core team had to prepare everyhting from co-ordinating ToT, to module preparation, to coaches selection process, till preparation of the venue for PROJEK TEKAD PERAK 2005.

the ToT

Aizan stressed out the importance for selected coaches to be able to make it for TEKAD's Training of Trainers session (ToT). therefore, several coaches from previous TEKAD had to be rejected from the list
of successful candidates. the ToT itself went smoothly..several new modules were introduced this time around, thanks to Poji's and Anang's ideas. This time around, the TEKAD Race consists of 5 modules namely
Paper Cup Tower; Volcanoes; Sambutlah Harapanku; TEKAD Minesweeper and TEKAD-sim.

several days before D-Day

as usual, e-mails were flying around the core team members. days were numbered with the amount of emails flying sent and received. the nearer we were to the D-Day, the numbers of e-mails were stockpiling :)

meetings were the norms.. and for us, the UTP team, travelling to and fro KL and UTP in one night(or morning) is a normal thing to do.. personally, for me, UTP is like a stone throw away :p

the core team was living up to their group name: Maniacs Version 3.
yes, we called ourselves Maniacs. Why? because we believe that it takes only maniacs to do this kind of tasks in such a short period of time. Maniacs with purposes, filled with desire to achieve excellencies, and driven by the volunteerism virus

24 Hours before D-Day

sleep is the luxury that we cannot afford. therefore, we tend to steal some time to get some rest and sleep. for UTP dungga gang, we were very excited plus nervous. Have we done enuff preparations prior to
coaches registration? is there anything we missed out? even Anang himself sacrificed his sleeps just to make sure that the preparations had been done thoroughly. eyebags began to appear underneath our cute eyes...

8 hours before champions registration

coaches briefing session. before that, the coaches feasted on cappatis brought by Raj, the famous satay bota, and some nasi bungkus for the core team..some briefing done on champions registrations flow, modules
and activtities for tomorrow, and the need for the coaches to have good rest.

while the coaches slept throughout the night, the core team stayed awake till wee hours. some preparations need to be finalised. some preparations to be done. counters setup, hall setup, signage setup,
and other thing, plus the movement for Sunday's aerobic session..the module team was given the responsibility to conduct the aerobic session.

thanks to Usop (i had to mention his name.need to give him some credit, else somebody will cut off my head), the module team managed to master a unique japanese culture, called para-para dance..little that we know how this para-para thing would create an impact on this TEKAD.

31st July

Yo homies~

After 8 months hiatus, I met back all my UTP friends. Not much difference, except I guess the internship period made them to look wiser and more matured. Hah~

Received lots of comment on my physical appearance. I do admit, that I am getting more berisi, or FATTER. Haha. The period living at home was not wasted. The waistline is obviously getting bigger. Got to do something about this one, tho~

My classes start officially tomorrow, heh, (although the semester already started last week). Target for this semester?? U tell me 

on a lighter note, started playing Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. d@mmit! The game magically transformed me to a black muhf@k!ng nigga.. haha. No offence rite, homie?

By looking to how I started my student’s life this semester, this one might be a good one for me..do pray for my success! :p
