back-off, i know SILAT PULUT!!!

yeap, u read it right. i can assure you, i did not misspelled, nor do i am joking with you.
its true. its a fact.

i can DO silat pulut. :)

so anytime u want to mess around with me, i'm advising you not to do so. or you'll end up wishing you never do that. i dont want to hold any responsibility or liability should anything happened to you. either you'll be truly amazed, non-stop shaking your head in disbelief, or simply faint as you cant handle the hot-ness and cool-ness of my silat pulut.

my 1st silat pulut; it was during a dark and lonely night... nahh...it was during last weekend. went to my friends' wedding (both pengantin lelaki and perempuan, we kinda "clique" with each other). there were 2 people performing silat pulut in front of the mempelai dua sejoli. then, 1 of the "bouncer" (read:penyambut tetamu) asked the crowd sumting like this.
"lagi sorang..sape nk bersilat..last one"
there were commotion in the crowd. then suddenly, two pair of eyes looked at me, and one of the bouncers tapped me on the shoulder.
"adik, pegila silat kat depan tu"
the way i see it, i have nothing to gain yet nothing to lose. decided that it is time for me to show them what silat pulut is all about. hehehe. with a cool expression on my face, went in front of the mempelai, smiled and "mula membuka langkah dan bunga-bunga".

all these years of watching people performing silat, plus being a fan of "Pendekar" series, does not go down the drain. my buah-buah silat was OK la, flawless jugak la. but who cares. in the true philosophy of silat pulut,
"it is the heart and body movement that matters. when the heart's tempo is as ONE with the body, then you will move gracefully"
yela tu.

another wisdom from the guru-pendekar-al-berto-azamil-tiger-paw.
"it doesnt matter whether you truly knows or not. GAYA dan STYLE mesti 10 MARKAH. confidence is an important asset, apart from having a face as thick as brick-walls you can find in the older building of UTP"

p/s: naz told me afterward, "i ingatkan u nak buat dungga kat depan tadi"

post-Syawal

this IS the official post of the post-raya. :) planned to go on a prolonged silence to observe the month of Syawal, and while the plan to end the silence with a big BANG bombastic entry does not materialise, I ended up venting my frustration on something stupid.

anyway, here's a brief rundown on what has been happening through out my nearly two-months career in PETRONAS.

the "TALENT"s for PETRONAS advertorial poster

up till now, all i can tell is that the poster wont look exactly like this. instead of all the talents smiling and looking at the camera, the official shot will be from helicopter's view, which means only the heads will be visible. i guess there is a good reason of me having a not-like-shampoo-model's hair, which is curly and waivy. do browse thru early december's edition of major newspaper's section of career and job advertorial.

Health Talk organised by my department for all PETRONAS staffs

well, the fact that my email address and extension number is publicly displayed in the intranet and posters in the tower, i guess it sure beats the feeling of knowing ur name is highly visible on the posters back in university's days long-long-long time ago.

well, this entry serves its purpose already. that is to "brag" on what i've done here at the office, more than the normal routine work. hehehe.

till then, chiaow!

live long and prosper!

praises and tears

just went back from Hari Raya gathering for HRM division. Alhamdulillah, the event went smoothly, with interesting things happening. as shocking as it be, it was emotions that prevailed.

it was during a pop-quiz session. me, being the emcee or host, asked audiences several questions and give them prizes for every correct answers given. the environment was fun and cheerful, for the audiences were entertained and well-fed. with the least expectation of to get participation, i was shocked with how the audience reacted to the questions. they were all eager to answer all of it.

on the final questions, audience are required to rearrange the jumbled up words displayed. to trick them, i gave them wrong hints, saying that it has got something to do with the Company, and its quality principles.

then an elder staff, a senior one, came up front and decided to tell her answer. i tried to scare her, by saying that its related to the company (big liar, i am hehehe). she retreated back to her place, and other staff went to the front and confidently stating the correct answer. which, of course, has nothing to do with the Company or even its quality principles.

then came the consequences. the senior staff "x puas hati". to add more reason to grieve, she is in my office (luckily not in my department).

sensing the disturbance in the force (with help from other staffs and instinct), i went to her place to give her deservedly-won prize. and too apologise if i've done wrong. (hey, how can u know instaneously on-the-spot that you are doing something wrong, when you feel no harm's done?).

to summarize what she said, i'll put in bullet form:-
  • young executives are "memperlekehkan" senior staffs
  • Me, the audience and I humiliated and embarassed her
  • you are here for one month plus-plus, and it this how you behave?
  • she can buy bigger prize by her own, but it is the "maruah yang sudah tercalar"
  • i should have known better not to do like that
  • she was thinking of giving me a MEMO for what i've done
  • ways of me handling the quiz session was unprofessional
  • and when i tried to apologise to her, she asked, "why only you? where are the others? they should apologise too"
she requested me to leave before she starts to cry.

the irony is, just when i walked away and heading towards another cubicle, on the other side of the office, other staffs told me, "mil, bagus aa jadi host tadi".

(i was flabbergasted)
